Awarded "Great Places in Georgia–Great Street," in 2011 by the Georgia Planning Association, Canton Street, the main artery through Roswell's historic district, has been described as "the hottest scene outside Atlanta's perimeter."
Visitors can stroll down tree-lined brick sidewalks along Canton and its narrow side streets past historic commercial buildings and homes housing dozens of restaurants, boutiques, shops and galleries.
Canton Street is always alive with locals and visitors, but, Canton Street's "Alive After Five" events, held the 3rd Thursday evening of each month, have been called "the best street party in Atlanta" with live music, great food, shops, galleries, and a festive atmosphere as thousands enjoy the ambiance that helped Canton Street receive the GPA's "Great Places in Georgia–Great Street!" recognition.
