Comments

As a long-time canoeist, I have known Michael Moody longer than he has owned the Broad River Outpost (BRO).  I have used the BRO’s put-ins and take-outs for years and often use BRO’s reasonably priced shuttle service.  I usually park my truck on one of the BRO’s properties and make the requested donation in lieu of a parking fee that goes to the Broad River Watershed Association.  Michael and his employees are friendly and accommodating to all who use his facilities or rents his kayaks or canoes. They also advocate safe practices for boaters as well as river conservation and protection.

BG Note: The comment above is from semi-retired UGA professor Roger Thomas who probably knows the Broad River better than any person alive, having paddled it over 250 times.

I have paddled the Broad River at least 250 times, but Michael Moody knows the Broad River better than I do.  Lest some may think the Broad may be all that I have paddled, in 38 years of canoeing I have paddled all major whitewater streams in Georgia, most multiple and some as many as 50 times.  I have paddled in Tennessee and NC as well as south Georgia and Florida waters such as the Okefenokee Swamp, the St. Marys River, and the Suwanee River.  Georgia born and Georgia bred, nobody love Georgia more than I do.
