In 1968, the Woodruff Arts Center was founded as a memorial to the members of Atlanta’s arts community who were tragically lost when their plane crashed at Orly Airport. Never a static monument, the Center has, from its first day, been committed to preserving their legacy through artistic excellence, arts education, and the creation of a Village for the Arts that the entire community can enjoy. Today the Woodruff Arts Center includes the Alliance Theatre, High Museum of Art, Young Audiences, 14th Street Playhouse and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra.
