Rothschild-Pound House Inn | Columbus, Georgia
Columbus GA 31901
Nearly two decades ago, Garry and Mamie Pound, with the help of the Historic Columbus Foundation, moved a Victorian home, the 1870 Rothschild House, to the Columbus historic district. The Pounds lovingly restored the home and opened it in 1995 as the Rothschild-Pound House Inn. Today, the house is the centerpiece of five other cottages, originally built between 1870 and 1890 that the Pounds have restored to make up their charming bed and breakfast property.
You will find each accommodation to be one of a kind, integrating the best of historic preservation and the comfort of a fine hotel. Each cottage and each suite within the main house has period baths or Jacuzzi tubs, antiques, fireplaces, and beautiful hardwood floors. All suites and cottages have digital cable with movie channels, WiFi, stocked mini-refrigerators, and in-room coffee. Enhancing the warmth and charm of the entire inn are artfully arranged fresh flowers and Garry Pound's beautiful, original artwork.
You have a choice of suites that open onto a full private kitchen, and suites that feature wet bars. Many suites open onto each other, creating the perfect arrangement for families or small groups.
The Pounds serve beverages and gourmet cheeses in one of the main parlors each evening. And Mamie’s complimentary Southern breakfast of biscuits, gourmet grits, buttermilk pancakes, fruit crepes and Eggs Benedict is served each morning.
Located in the Columbus historic district and within walking distance of many Columbus attractions, the Rothschild-Pound House Inn offers special treats—such as a Romance Package, a Barbecue and Homemade Ice Cream Pacage, a rose petal bath, a fun basket, and private wine and cheese. Extended stay, military and corporate rates are also available.
