In 1890, Glen and Ella Davidson expanded their 15-year-old home in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia and began taking in guests to the Tallulah Falls area. More than 100 years later, Ed and Luci Kivett continue the Davidson tradition of hospitality as the innkeepers of Glen-Ella Springs Inn and Meeting Place. The beautifully restored inn, which is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has received numerous preservation awards, draws guests from around the Southeast.
The inn’s 16 guestrooms have heart pine paneled walls and ceilings and are decorated in rustic elegance with colorful chintz fabrics and a mixture of period antiques and locally handcrafted furniture. Each room has a private bath and telephone. Within the inn, guests have access to all conveniences of modern life, including WiFi, flat screen TVs with satellite connections, coffee makers, and iPod docking stations, as well as luxury items, such as comfortable bathrobes, quality bed linens, specialty bath products, and coffee makers with gourmet coffee. Guests also can enjoy Glen-Ella’s common porches, rocking chairs, and views of the lovely 12-acre meadow, pool, and perennial gardens that surround the inn.
The Glen-Ella Springs Inn restaurant is open to the public and inn guests for dinner. Recognized as one of the Top 3 dining destinations in Georgia by Georgia Trend Magazine, the restaurant serves an award-winning cuisine in a rustic, yet elegant, country atmosphere.
Glen-Ella Springs Inn and Meeting Place offers a number of specialized guest packages, including a Culinary Getaway, a Golf and Lodging package, outdoor adventure packages, and a Romantic Weekend for Two package.
