Combine a water park pass with a tubing trip down the Chattahoochee River through Helen at Cool River Tubing. Cool River Tubing offers two different length tubing trips, all-day tubing and, a Dual Waterslides.
All tube trips include a large, green Cool River Tubing tube, a U.S. Coast Guard approved life preserver, and shuttle service from one end of the river to the other. Bungee cords for tying together tubes in a group and sticks for pushing tubes off of rocks are also available.
TripAdvisor reviewer LanceBrannon says: "Second time tubing the Hooch with Cool River Tubing. Went over the busy Memorial Day holiday....and while the crowds were large, service was fast and efficient. Took my 4 year old niece and she loved it! The best 5 bucks you will spend in Helen!"
Cool River Tubing has two different locations. The main headquarters is located behind the Alpine Village Shoppes and across from the Welcome Center on Edelweiss Strasse. The other facility is located at the north end of Helen at the intersection of Chattahoochee River Rd. and Hwy 75.
Cool River Tubing has an Outpost that sells food items and equipment, restrooms, showers, dressing rooms, picnic areas with grills, and a key-saver service free of charge. It is located within walking distance of all of Helen's other attractions.
"Park at one end - free shuttle takes you to the other," says reviewer travelwithkids66 on trekaroo.com. "You just hop in your inner tube (blue or green) and float away. They have bungee cords so you can tie your whole group together - it's very helpful if someone gets hung up on a rock - the momentum of the others can pull you along. It's great fun and very relaxing."
