Known For Being the home of some of Georgia’s most remarkable natural areas and outdoor recreation, including Cloudland Canyon State Park and Lookout Mountain Flight Park on Lookout Mountain. Notable Natural Feature Lookout Mountain. Famous Sons and Daughters Norman Blake, famed for his folk music, some of which appears on the “O Brother, Where Art Thou?” sound track, resides in Rising Fawn with his wife, Nancy, also a folk musician. In History Rising Fawn was the home to one of Georgia’s earliest arts and crafts fairs that set the tone and style for others to follow, the Plum Nelly Arts and Crafts Festival founded in 1947 by Fannie Mennen.
