County Seat of Wilcox County Nickname "Wild Hog Capital of Georgia" Most Notable Natural Feature The Ocmulgee River is located within the city limits and provides opportunities for boating, fishing and camping In History Spanish explorer Hernandez DeSoto passed through what is now Abbeville. A historical marker on the Courthouse grounds commemorates the event.
